Second Quality English Yew Bowl Blank Packs
What a wonderful wood Yew is. Its warm red/orange colours and unpredictable grain lines always give it the edge over other species, making it a favourite for many wood turners.
But it is also a challenging timber in that there are often splits within the timber and the fluted nature of its growth can result in hidden pockets of bark inclusion and/or holes.
These yew blanks are blanks which don't meet the standard for our quality listings and contain splits, bark inlcusion, holes, and knots as shown in the photos. They have been cut from a consigment of Yew trees which came from the Badminton Estate in Gloucestershire.
Some may be particularly suited to resin filling.
