African Blackwood Spindles/Squares

If you've not worked with African Blackwood, you should try this remarkable timber.  Suitable for fine detail wood turning and carving work.  Extremely heavy, dense and often completely black, with little or no discernible grain.  Considered to be among the hardest and most dense woods in the world.  Although the pale yellow sapwood of African Blackwood provides a striking visual contrast, most of these blanks contain very little sapwood.  We hope to be introducing a range of blanks containing both heart and sapwood soon.
 
Available in pack sizes of 2 or 5kg (including packaging) of mixed lengths ranging from 50 to 200mm (2 - 8") long and in four section size ranges:
 
20 - 30mm square (3/4 - 1  1/4")
31 - 40mm square (1 1/4 - 1 1/2")
41 - 50mm square (1 1/2 - 2")
51 - 60mm (2 - 2 1/4")
 
Wax sealed ends - stable & ready to store if required
Fully seasoned/Air dried - less stressed than kiln dried & easier to turn
Carefully selected - virtually knot free, always good quality
 
Blanks will be supplied rough sawn - the blanks in the pictures have been sanded to show the grain and colour.  Pictures show a representative sample and the blanks are all similar.
